Founding vision
Toastmasters and Beadles long hoped for a lodge that reflected their professions. After initial setbacks, a renewed push in 2007 led to a successful petition for a new warrant.

- Warrant granted by the Grand Master in June 2007.
With several lodges closing, Grand Lodge encouraged petitions to revive existing warrants. Our founders wanted something different and produced a five-page document outlining how a new lodge would thrive, eventually securing permission to apply for a fresh warrant.
On 26 November 2007 over 700 brethren gathered in the Grand Temple at Freemasons’ Hall. The Metropolitan Grand Master, the Rt Hon Lord Millett, led the consecration with ceremony and precision, supported by visiting brethren from across the UK and Europe.
The 34 founder members wore their red tailcoats and black gowns, accompanied by state trumpeters and music from the Sheffield and District Masonic Choir. Commemorative gavels and programmes marked the day, followed by a celebratory festive board.
Banner, badge & motto
The banner and badge unite the tools of our professions. A red lion bears the gavel of the Toastmaster; a black lion carries the staff of the Beadle. Set against the Square and Compasses on a light blue field, they symbolise strength, charity and harmony.
The crimson lower border nods to the Holy Royal Arch while the motto “In Unitate Stabilitas – In Stabilitate Vires” reminds us that unity brings stability and strength.
